The therapeutic mechanism of action is due to three main effects: improvement of bronchial drainage, improvement of ventilation-perfusion ratios, maneuver of "opening the lungs".
The use of the device is effective in the treatment of both obstructive and restrictive pulmonary pathology. But no less important role should be given to the prevention of diseases of the respiratory system.
Timely use of the device contributes to the early prevention of the development of pulmonary complications, especially in patients who are in bed rest for a long time, in patients with a predisposition to pulmonary diseases or with chronic pulmonary pathology.
In obstructive pathology, the device helps to improve sputum secretion, improve bronchial conduction. The combined effects produced by the device allow not only to "beat off" sputum, but also to stimulate its drainage.
Invaluable assistance to the patient can be provided by combining vibroacoustic exposure with postural drainage techniques. The device is also able to potentiate the effect of inhalation therapy.
The device is ideal for severe and borderline patients requiring increased attention due to respiratory pathology of any genesis, especially pulmonary edema and purulent bronchitis, which are also observed in patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia. Timely use of the BARK VibroLUNG device allows you to prevent the transfer of patients to mechanical ventilation, and in the case of the use of mechanical ventilation, to reduce the period of stay of seriously ill patients on hardware support.
General information
The device replaces manual methods of vibration and percussion massage of the chest in diseases of the respiratory system, increases the effectiveness of the treatment. The therapeutic effect is based on the effect of sound waves (20 – 300 Hz) of a floating frequency using two hand-held vibroacoustic emitters applied to the patient's chest. Propagating sound waves and vibration from the surface of the chest cause vibration of the structural units of the pulmonary parenchyma, thereby providing a number of therapeutic effects. Due to the use of floating frequency, the effectiveness of the effect is increased due to the resonance effect.
Application
The use of vibroacoustic therapy of the lungs is advisable for conditions based on hyperproduction and impaired evacuation of bronchial secretions:
– exacerbations of COPD;
– hyperproductive bronchitis;
– bronchiectasis of the lungs;
– bronchial asthma;
– cystic fibrosis;
– depressed cough reflex in neurology and other diseases.
In restrictive lung pathology, which is based on: a decrease in lung aeration against the background of alveolar collapse, an increase in the volume of intrapulmonary fluid, a violation of ventilation-perfusion ratios, it is also advisable to use vibroacoustic therapy.
This is:
– pneumonia of varying severity;
– respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS);
– other parenchymal lung diseases.
Contraindications
Contraindications to vibroacoustic chest massage should be determined by the attending physician, in each case individually, depending on the real clinical picture, taking into account the underlying and concomitant pathology.
